Modern Warfare hasn't even been officially announced by publisher Activision, but that hasn't prevented strong pre-orders on Amazon.
Following a massive leak last week, Infinity Ward fired out the first teaser trailers for the game, leading retailers including Amazon and Game to start taking pre-orders for the shooter's expected November 8 release.
According to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz: "Pre-orders already appear to be flowing in, as Amazon.com lists the Xbox 360 version of the game at #3 in their top 100 selling titles across all platforms (only behind the recently released L.A. Noire on the 360/PS3 platforms) and the PS3 version of the game at #12.
"By comparison, we note that last year's Call of Duty title, Black Ops, placed its 360 and PS3 versions #74 and #76 in the Amazon top 100 during the week its initial trailer was released, and at #49 and #73, respectively, during the first full week following the initial trailer."
Creutz added that he expects "Black Ops will wind up selling roughly 25 million units worldwide".
