PSP set for PSN password firmware update

V6.39 will be released "soon"

Sony's confirmed that a new PSP system software update, v6.39, will be released soon.

The update will allow users to change their PlayStation Network passwords, which are required to access online services.

The software update will also improve "system software stability" during use of some features, the platform holder says.

On May 15, SCEE finally confirmed that PSN services had started coming back online in Europe after over three weeks of online gaming blackout on PS3.

As will be the case with PSP owners, PS3 users were required to change their PSN passwords.
