Take Two has announced in its financial report today that it has renewed its employment agreement with Rockstar big shots Sam and Dan Houser, and Leslie Benzies.

"This team has been instrumental in the development and success of Take-Two's extensive portfolio of multi-million unit internally-owned franchises," it added.
The firm also confirmed the signing of a new Management Agreement with ZelnickMedia. "ZelnickMedia will continue to provide financial and management consulting services to the Company through May 31," it said. "Strauss Zelnick will continue to serve as Chairman and CEO and Karl Slatoff will continue to serve as COO of Take-Two."
Rockstar's latest game, LA Noire, hit shelves this month and, as our review will tell you, it's another stunner for the house of GTA (although the two games are nothing alike - be warned).

Must have been a tough decision. How did they ever find the courage to continue as they are now.

YESSSSSSS!!! No Acti or EA or UbiSoft annexing this great little studio for now. Class, engaging and unique new ips to come for a long time. Will ask for GTA 5 soon though. Unlike other games that get repeated on a yearly bases, when they go to make a new GTA, there is time, thought and effort put into it.

Not sure about that. I mean they will still be using the GTA 4 engine I would think. The next GTA with be to GTA 4 as Vice City was to GTA 3. The reason there taking so long is possibly because parts of the team are working on other projects or just there time frame.
Either way though this is good news. I don't want a GTA title every year and I know if EA or Acti got there hands on R* it go downhill fast.

I agree to a point in what you say, but I was not neccessarily meaning that they are building a new engine. Why should they? I think the one used for 4 is still good enough. As for Vice City was to GTA3, how good a game was Vice City? Pretty great in my opinion. Not knocking what your saying but you knocked the nail on the head when you said R* would go downhill fast under other publishers. That was my basic point. (Anyone remember RARE?)

Rockstar isn't a studio, it's nothing more than a label on a box. There was only one Rockstar and that was the Scottish one, which was previously DMA Design. All the other studios are either existing or purchased Take 2 studios with a new name over the door. Come on kids know your games history!

I think that Rockstar should release a proper GTA Complete game, all 14..is it 14 games? That would make a proper complete game or they should at least release the original GTA games on XBL or PSN

I'm pretty sure Take-Two could still be purchased, it's just the Heads of Rockstar continuing in agreement. The good news would be that if Take-Two was purchased, those guys would still be a part of the R* team for quite a while, and not just up and leave.

Phew!
Can you imagine loading up the next GTA game or Max Payne 3 & seeing the Activision or EA logo proudly boasting its skanky ass all over the screen?! Sends a shiver down your spine doesnt it? Haha!

Great news, I'm sure they will all benefit from it. People who clearly value their product with pride and not just a monetary value.
Expect GTA and agent details shortly, not sure E3 will be the showcase knowing Rockstar!
Hopefully it will push the share prices higher too and keep others away from them.
