Aliens: Colonial Marines 'is not going to disappoint' - Sega

Publisher promises "THE definitive Aliens game"

Sega's promised long, long in development Gearbox FPS Aliens: Colonial Marines will not disappoint fans after its lengthy time missing in action.

Speaking via it's "re-announcement" of Colonial Marines, Sega Europe's senior VP of marketing Gary Knight said the shooter will be "THE definitive Aliens gaming experience."

"Gearbox Software are doing a brilliant job translating the thrill and horror that Aliens stands for into an action-packed shooter experience with co-operative gameplay at its core," he said in the release.

20th Century Fox's Gary Rosenfeld added: "It's no easy task to take on one of the most influential films of all-time, but SEGA and Gearbox are not going to disappoint. This game will be a must-have for fans of the Aliens franchise and gamers around the globe."

The last time we saw Colonial Marines was via magazine previews in early 2008, followed by a promise to CVG from Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford last year that the game was still alive.

Sega reconfirmed this afternoon that the elusive game will release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2012.

A new look will be presented at Sega's E3 booth next week in Los Angeles.
