The first SSX gameplay trailer has hit the net like a board to snow.
And it gives more than enough reasons for fans of the series to bury any initial fears that the reboot had lost the flamboyant SSX attitude.
While it might not be quite as colourful as previous titles, you can see it's still pretty crazy:
EA made an effort to allay fears back in April with an SSX video that detailed some of its 'promise we're still extreme' course design philosophies.

While it's great to see SSX returning (just Road Rash to go EA, hint, hint), this looks very last gen, so far.

mac's back in a HD version of an awesome game. Lets hope the wii remote, i mean 'move' will be utilised just as well on the PS3 as the wii remote was to the wii.

I'm sorry, but as a big fan of Tricky, this SSX reboot looks like every other snowboarding game.

This is still devoid of any colour, where's the speed lines or the fireworks, SSX had it's own unique style but this could be any snow boarding game.
Why can't they put the old style flair back in with the option to turn it off if you're sad and miserable and don't like that sort of thing, then everyone's happy.

Yeaaahh!
Wow look at that. All they need to do is make it a bit more colourful, throw in a great soundtrack a la SSX3 and put all the tricks on the shoulder buttons again. Seriously, if they pull another SSX On Tour and put UBER tricks on the right stick then what's the freakin' point?
All the snow and animation looks awesome though so I'm sold so far.

Beautiful.
I'm also I'm sensing a Junkie XL kind of vibe to the trailer's music like was in SSX Blur. Here's hoping he's soundtracking this one too. There was a lot of hate directed towards Blur (most of it undeserved I feel) but you can't deny it had wonderful music.

There's enough there for me to feel they may get this right in terms of handing, the art direction is yet to convince me. No red, orange and yellow flakes in a tricks mode will be a massive fail, long time fans of SSX 1,2 and Tricky will demand it.

He's in quite a few EA games. He's been in a couple Burnout games as well (Revenge and Paradise). The two franchises (especially the older games) have fairly similar soundtracks. My fave is still 3 though.

I am disappoint.
I liked the first teaser trailer. I liked the idea of harsh conditions mixed in with the SSX style of play. Man against mountain but with insane air and tricks etc. Intriguing prospect.
This looks the same as every other SSX game, but without the lurid colours. SSX was great in the day, but how many years on is it? I was looking forward to something fresh, yet familiar, a new take on an old franchise.
Why is it everybody just wants the same thing regurgitated over and over, just a bit shinier each time? Then everyone complains about the lack of originality in games these days.
I am actually feeling quite depressed.

Keep your chin up.
Until they out what modes are available, no one quite knows how it will play. There could an arena style trick mode, a conquer the mountain style (which you want by the sounds of it) and a variety of race modes like online multiplayer, PvP etc.
If they completely ignore the old, why call it SSX? I hear what your saying, but it has to contain the bits people loved about the old one as it is using the SSX brand name. It will get get slaughtered if it doesn't bear any resemblance to its roots.

This looks very...bland, dull and empty. Not very SSX but I'll wait for another couple of trailers before I make my mind up.
