Lionhead's announced Fable: The Journey, the "next leap forward" in the 360 series for Kinect.

Peter Molyneux showed off the title on stage, promising that it will "connect you to the world of Albion like never before."

The demo kicked off with a player holder the reigns on the back of a horsecart, before moving on to an on-foot and on-rails battle where he blasted various magic attacks with his hands, performing different gestures to conjure different spells.

Microsoft said in a press release: "Set five years after the events of Fable III, Journey takes you on a magical journey with only your loyal horse at your reins, Theresa, the mysterious seer of Fable III, by your side, and a malevolent evil to defeat before it claims all of Albion.

"With the power of Kinect for Xbox 360, craft and control magic in a way that can't be done with a controller. Fable: The Journey draws players deep into the action and adventure of the Fable franchise like never before."

Ah yes, on-rails...just like the arcade machines everyone got bored of playing 10 years ago? Anyone else feel like this is one step forward and two steps back? :?

What are you lot talking about, this is THE NEXT STEP.........

I thought it was superb, so genre defining, something fresh and new, a real piece of......... No wait i can't do it, i can't

It blew, totally blew....... What a joke Lionhead are thesedays, peter molyneux is a joke of a man compared to what he was back in the 90's.

Anyone from Lionhead reading this needs to have the balls to go up to him and the top brass there and smack them in the mouth, otherwise if you all have a whip round on here and pay for a ticket i will gladly go there and do it for you.

    Shambles

This is just a fable side story isn't it? We still get Fable 4 when ever that is due right?

Female Ezio? Anyway, turning a franchise from free-roaming into on-rails is never going to be a good idea, unless said franchise is Starfox (which was on-rails originally). What they need is a proper adventure with motion-controlled spellcasting, which I maintain would be great if done correctly. But would probably need at least a joystick.

Bear in mind too that because Peter M. is behind it it's not even going to be as good as it looks now!

I'm going to be honest here. I think it's fair to say, this isn't Fable 4, it's a sort of side project, and expansion on the universe. As such, I welcome it. It could bunk, or it could turn out great, difficult to tell right now. It's a different view on the Fable world that I love. I'll give it space and we'll see what happens.
