Right, it's Sony's turn. Soon, at least. 5PM has come and gone but people are still sitting down. Excitingly though, 3D glasses are being handed out. Uncharted 3 showing?
Jack Tretton in 3D, maybe?
It's alright Sony, take your time. You've got us for five hours after all.
Got a picture of Sony's stand for you below while you wait. No, we're not sitting behind a wall of Vaseline. Blackberry camera fail. Soz. You can see blue though, right? It's blue.
Click to view larger image A woman is telling us to put on 3D glasses. She is very insistent.
"I was only playing," sings woman. Bumpin'n'grinding music. Go on jack. Shake the junk.
Loads of NGP. 3D Sonic.
PSN graphic. Very brave.
PSP. Erm, yep. Okay.
We want: Quantic Dream's new game, MGS 5 and... sod it... GTA V. How's about you, friends?
Sorry MS. PlayStation's opening gets deserved whoops.
Jack looking like the perma tanned love child of a used car dealer. And a pimp.
Sorry that quickly? Wow. PSN apologies.
That was actually quite funny. There have been a lot of headlines. We're not one of his 'reporter friends'. But we will be, a mojito or too later?
PSN 27% up year-on-year. Impressive. Like a legless man winning the Olympic 100m.
90% acivity back on PSn following hack.
Jack says consumers leave him "humble and amazed". And rich, obviously.
Strong tie.
New media partner - Cinema Now, a 'leading proviser of instant access TV and movies'.
Naughty Dog in the house. Uncharted 3. Fist bump!
We're suckers for lighting. But thems be some sweet lighting.
Well this does not look rubbish. Check out those weather effects! Amazeballs.
Uncharted 3 PLUS SUBS!!!
Drake just got shot. Sexy Helen Mirren type purring. May be Helen Mirren. Purring.
"We're going to sell a few copies of that bad boy." Not wrong.
Resistance in 3D. Very yellow. Very swish.
Sharshooter R3 bundle . September 6. $150.
God Of war origins - PSP titles - plus ICO/SOC coming in HD and 3D in September.
$499 for a pretty stunning 3D package. Good to heaer 3D glasses getting more affordable, too. And that idea of two different visions rather than split screen sounds too good to be true.
Click to view larger image 2K NBA on The Move. If you like.
Kobe Beef, ladies. Fresh from Black Ops promotion. He made a joke about Miami Heat there. We didn't get it, but it got a reaction. People are enjoying this conference 4 real.
"All jokes aside, it's so realistic, it's frightening." Getting a hero's farewell.
Medieval Moves, action adventure using PS Move. Why not?
Good news: It's first person. Bad news: We've hit the conference lull. Time for a cuppa.
This is going on for a while. Suffering in Kobe's wake.
Nice shot, Jeremy. Intriguing little number. Out in the autumn.
InFamous 2 is InFamous 2. We loved it. User-generated content experience will allow players to create their missions. Another autumn tidbit. LB2 levels can be created with Move too.
Starhawk. Exciting little number.
Sly's back everyone. We like Sly. Thieves in Time coming 2012.
Dust 514 plus Eve Online equals clever business move / Move. Looks good, too.
BioShock Infinite. Gosh this game looks amazing.
It's gonna have PlayStation Move. Interesting.
So that's BioShock game coming to NGP, Bioshock 1 bundled with Infinite, Saints Row November goodies AND a new Star Trek game. Jack's reeling them off now.
Battlefield 1943 bundled with Battlefield 3. Added value time.
Kaz is in town, just after some downtime. Tee hee!
Good tie observation.
PlayStation Suite. This is the mobile selection of 'PS certified' games. Good stuff. But we get the feeling that a big announcement must be coming. Come on Kaz. Give us the daddy.
PlayStation Vita confirmed as NGP's name. "cutting edge features," says Kaz. AT&T exclusive deal doesn't go down well. There is laughter. We haven't heard applause that patchy since Tony Blair at the WI.
Click to view larger image Uncharted PS Vita (nope, still not quite comfortable) a good move. Excitement in the room waning a little. Uncharted never fails to pick things up.
Vita exclusive called Ruin. There are a LOT of announcements, but nothing really sizzling. Action RPG with socail side. Cloud-based swap to Ps3 is pretty cool.
Modnation Racers on Vita. Looks like a fun little number. Real-time effects when you make tracks. Sharing features with PS3 too.
LBP on Vita. Nice. Rear touch enabled. Snigger.
Street Fighter X Tekken coming to Vita. Crowd lifted. A few minor whoops.
Cole from InFamous in as cameo charachter. Lovely stuff. Ono's shirt is a highlight.
Vita pricing: The Wi-Fi-only model will cost a whoop-inducing $249 (249 Euros), matching Nintendo's pricing of the 3DS.
The 3G/Wi-Fi version will cost $299 (299 Euros).
More than 80 Vita titles in development for 'virtually every publisher'.
And that's it. A very good show from Sony, we think. Can Nintendo top it? Place your bets (aka comments) below. Thanks for tuning in, folks.

The only thing I care to know about the Vita is if it's region locked or not, because if it is I'm not interested even slightly.
Either way both MS and Sony haven't impressed me, so I guess it's going to be down to Nintendo, as I expected. Though this time I'll be going in knowing anything they show off probably won't be released by next E3.

Wow, as a PS3 owner I feel incredibly let down.
We fixed the psn and bringing a few old games from the ps2 to the system, right enough about the PS3 LOOK AT OUR NEW HANDHELD!
So far the order looks set to be Sony worst e3, then Microsoft, then hopefully nintendo will entertain

Wow you really a fanboy or are just trolling. You've been in every MS E3 story calling everybody that didn't like it and running lists off with stuff they should like. Let's not forget your "inFamous 2 8/10 isn't a good score" stuff from last week.
If you own both a 360 and PS3 you shouldn't feel let down at all. You can pick the good stuff from both (Uncharted 3, Gears 3 etc) and leave the bad (Kinect Disney games, old PS2 games etc). It really is win-win for you. Hopefully nobody writes you a list of the things you should have liked, only fanboy's and trolls do stuff like that.

I think you may need to check the definition of troll fella to be fair. It usually regards a person saying something deliberately inflammatory in order to garner a backlash or start an argument. Chunkysatsuma just seems to be expressing disappointment, which to be honest, I am also feeling.
Microsofts conference was pretty good as a show I thought, but take out the multiplatform titles, Kinect and sequels, and they actually had very little new on display. I think it safe to say the days of big, console exclusive titles are on the wane... I had really hoped for something to blow me away, and neither Sony nor the big M delivered, though currently I think Microsoft are ahead. Just. I'm fully expecting Nintendo to kill it now though.
Barry316 on 7 Jun '11 said:
Oh i know what a troll is, and i'm afraid to say he's showing the classic signs. It's one thing to express disappointment. but it's another to do multiple reassurance posts and telling others what they should like in the MS stories yesterday. Case in point
Notice the "didn't show off all their exclusives" part, surely the same could be said of this show ?.
boskersrevenge on 7 Jun '11 said:
Half the time it's hard to tell where the trolls begin and the supposed sane ones end.
Let's just all hold hands and get boners, I mean, enjoy video games... *cough*

Didn't see the conference, what with it being past my bedtime but from what I've seen Sony had a solid showing. Dunno what people actually expect, really, as I see this gen in the 3rd quarter but things are a little bit more organic than that. Next year's E3 may well be very similar to this, even with the impending Nintendo console, I think that will be the lever to which MS and Sony may act but this is all very big in the "ifs" dept. .
Billions have been invested by Sony and MS in this gen and people think they're going to add billions more with a new console just because they feel it's time?
I won't expect new hardware from them until 2014. Earlier I wouldn't say no to but even if the new Nintendo rocks our socks off 3rd party games will be capped at 360/PS3 so Nintendo may well have their work cut out for them to get exclusives to entice the "core" on over.
Anyway, clear and solid direction for Sony over the next year.

Fairly disappointing for me also.
No agent, GTA, little on Uncharted based on what's on here.
I'm buying an expensive 3D tv Sony, what are you offering me?
El Mag on 7 Jun '11 said:
So you wake up every morning with a boner too!
....i mean, what? yeah games cool, fistbumps and stuff *whistles*
gothchild on 7 Jun '11 said:
The 3DTV thing wasn't a bad idea, even if it's a bit silly with such a small size for 3D..
But a bit too much on Vita, needed more on PS3 imo.
Sleepaphobic on 7 Jun '11 said:
Vita? Seriously? I though that was a joke.
Remember when E3 was all about getting blasted in the face (Not in that way) with a million new games we never heard about before? If that's not coming back then ya I think E3 should probably die.
Codename4p on 7 Jun '11 said:
No GTA 5 or MGS 5 or God of War 4!?
yea not a bad show. very impressed with PSVita shall more than likely invest. The list of games attract me enough and hopefully they will be launch titles. If they are I can see it doing a hell of alot better than the 3DS.
Very_Silver_Ownz on 7 Jun '11 said:
Wasn't as bad as Microsofts but wasn't great either to be honest. Guess its upto Nintendo to save E3.
kirankara on 7 Jun '11 said:
i was most disappointed that Sony didnt anounce any upgrades to the psn network to match those that live already has, it's a bit silly they dont implicate these things like x game chat etc, as its not huge changes to make, and would seriously increase the viability of psn to many users.(not myself, its not a huge deal to me, but still makes sense)
rbt2 on 7 Jun '11 said:
Yeah but that was before the days when the internet was widespread.
I remember in the 90's popping down to my local import shop a few days after E3. He always went there and videoed it then reeled off copies to sell.
I've still got the one from '94. Just haven't got a bloody VCR to play it on.

where the hell is gta, first it misses microsoft then sony, have nintendo pulled a fast one and captured it for their new console?
Megatrons_Fury on 7 Jun '11 said:
Im totally confused by what im reading here today.
Microsoft's showcase was quite simply a joke, they started with a multi platform title filled in the gaps with dire Kinect shovelware made us all cringe with the over the top stage perfomances and finished with a game thats due out AFTER next year's E3. Also the stand out dire moment belonged to Peter Molyneux who just looks like a shadow of the man who created Bullfrog all those years ago, shame on you sir, shame on you.
Sony did go on a little bit and it was a bit uneven but they did manage to showcase a near complete set of exclusive titles and even managed a few suprises like the new Sly Raccoon game, that was kinda cool right? the DJ at the end however needs to die......... Painfully!
Anyone who is fair minded knows this years E3 is all about Nintendo anyway, a new home console trumps anything else before anyone even takes to the stage, it's what CVG care about most it's what every other site cares about most as well because it will provide more stories and gossip than everything else put together so pointless arguments between who's best Microsoft or Sony is now redundant as well as childish.
Considering how much of a Nintendo fanboy i have been in the past and how little i play my Wii because of my total hatred for it im looking forward to this afternoons showcase with excitement and also slight concern, please god let this be the time Nintendo reach back out to the older generation as well as embracing the new, the 360 shows that you can take care of your kids and also have adults enjoy gaming on the same console so Nintendo need to maybe copy a few ideas Microsoft have had.
Im really hoping that today everyone can express their excitement or concerns without people just having a go or making every single forum debate turn into a flame war, nothing ever gets done when this happens, im not trying to be boring or a git im just asking everyone to respect that other people have different opinions on different things, thats why we have so many platforms to play games on.
For me personally im upset with Microsoft and i see my console getting very little love this year considering Ghost Recon and Mass Effect are both next year, im very happy with Sony and look forward to the Vita because it's new hardware and ridge racer is on it and im hopefull for Nintendo, i was seriously worried this year's E3 would be flat as the industry does look a bit tired from sequel after sequel but if Nintendo can match or better Son'y showcase then i think it should finish strongly and we can all look forward to more things to play over the next weeks, months and years.
Enjoy the rest of E3 everyone.

If I cared enough about portable gaming I would buy the PS Vita but I don't so I won't. I was very impressed with the Uncharted and LittleBiGPlanet Vita games though. Was surprised we didn't get to see the Call of Duty game thats coming to the Vita.
Aside from that, My interest in Resistance 3 is growing by every new trailer I see.
Uncharted 3? Wow just wow, I had doubts Naughty Dog could top Uncharted 2 but Drakes Deception is looking amazing, and Elena is back
.
I'm excited for the new Sly Cooper game, I've never played a Sly game before, but all my friends say the previous games were very good so I look forward to finally trying out this PlayStation series.
Finally ICO/SoTC Collection has a release date, I never played these games on PS2 but I hear fantastic things of both.
Bioshock Infinite comes bundled with Bioshock? Yes please, I'll have that. Kinda curious how Move will be integrated too.
Very interested in the Sony 3D monitor.
Not really sure about Dust, could be cool, but all we were shown last night was their ambitions for the game. Wait and see.
I was disappointed not to see GoW4 but hey its a long time til September 2012 so they didn't need to show anything. It was confirmed MGS5 wouldn't be there so no need to get angry about that.
Not Sony's best E3 but if you take a step back and take your jaded gamer head off then theres something for everyone to be excited about.

No megaton but at least as solid as Microsoft's conference.
All bets are on Nintendo to win E3.

I would like to see that and see just how far we've came. Was the PS1 even present at it or was that the following year?

Exactly so with all the news from the net, publisher events etc. is there really a point to E3?
Tbh E3 was relevant not too long ago.
chunkysatsuma on 7 Jun '11 said:
*sigh* Time to defend my views
I said 8/10 was a decent score for a multiplat, for a hyped console exclusive it is disapointing, you always hope the console exclusives will be 9/10, Infamous 1 is my fave sandbox game ever, yes I was down on the early reviews (that is not trolling)
My comment about not showing their exclusives at the Microsoft press conference was in reference to titles like the Witcher 2, Crimson Alliance and XBLA - games have already been announced but didnt feature.
Yes I did enjoy the xbox conference, I own Kinect so of course I would. Halo fans would also be pumped for the two new halo games, casual fans would love the sesame street crap, I dont think my statement was wrong was it?
As for the PS3 conference? They fell into the same trap microsoft did, focussing on games long announced (UC3, Gears) and tech that the majority of the install base wont buy (NGP, Kinect)
I do feel this to be a worse press conference then microsofts, but I understand expressing an opinion in contrary to some people on here will brand me a troll.
Barca Azul on 7 Jun '11 said:
I haven't seen the video's and CVG failed to mention a new uncharted one this morning.
I just feel Sont didn't add much more than at TSG.
Was really hoping for Agent/GTA!
