Microsoft's revealed a new... thing.
"It's a double-ended dildo."
"It looks like a robot's groin."
"I must have it."
Just a few of the things thrown around the CVG office before we dared even open the press release itself.

Here's what Microsoft has to say for itself:
"Launching in early October, the Wireless Speed Wheel is completely wireless and controlled intuitively with precise steering, standard controller buttons/triggers, and haptic feedback with rumble.
"The device is compatible with all racing games right out of the box*. The Wireless Speed Wheel will be available for $59.99 (U.S. ERP) and will ship to retailers worldwide beginning September 26, 2011. This device combines a fun and immersive driving experience with the biggest racing game of the year, the best rated "Forza Motorsport."
"With trigger buttons for gas and brake, combined with a rumble feedback, the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel provides intuitive standard controller buttons that immerse the driver into the game, whether you like to white knuckle it down the race track with your hands at "10 and 2" or "9 and 3.
"The new Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel balances the realism of a wheel with the feel of a controller for greater user edge in game play. It includes buttons for game specific functions including triggers, ABXY and D-pad along with green bands of lights on each handle to provide visual cues when necessary."
It looks stupidly uncomfortable if you ask us. Still, we'll pass judgement when we get it in our hands.
Forza 4 was dated for October 11 at Microsoft's E3 press conference yesterday.

I though the whole purpose of a wheel was that it was, you know, wheel shaped, ie Round.

im not sure.. i think steering wheels need to be locked to something with pedals.

Formula 1 drivers don't have round steering wheels. Just saying.

I still got the official wheel, collecting dust somewhere. When I do use it its an impressive piece of kit.

this looks like it can work to me, the hand positions should be fine, only thing holding it back might be weight.

A wireless steering wheel with no base is like a mouse and keyboard with no table, i.e f**king useless!

Agreed. That looks quite pathetic and it's available for Forza 4? Pfftt! I just want to be able to plug my Logitech DFP wheel into the USB port of my 360, Microsoft, is that so hard?

That actually might work, anyone remember the Namco NeGcon and how it was a daft idea but actually worked.
Though i just recently bought the official 360 wheel and a playseat so it ain't for me. As a few people have already said MS opening up the system to accept Logitech wheels would be great as i'm currently looking for 1 for using with Gran Turismo.
