Nintendo's announcement of Super Smash Bros on Wii U and 3DS came a little too early for series creator Masahiro Sakurai.

There was nothing to show of the game at the company's E3 press conference (not even a logo) because development hasn't even started and won't do until Kid Icarus Uprising is complete, he said in a Tweet (via Andriasang).

"We really shouldn't have announced it for the general public at this timing, but since we have to assemble staff, we made the notice," Sakurai added.

"The future will change depending on the strength of the gathered developers," he later said, also noting that possible characters haven't been given any thought yet.

Super Smash Bros 4 was announced for the Wii U and 3DS during Nintendo's E3 press conference. Check out all the news from the event if you aren't already fully clued up.

Heh, pity as that got the loudest applause out of everything at that show.

Also, just throwing this out there, but I'd like Commander Shepard to be in SSBU please
