Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and your iBooks app may feel like they're worlds apart, but Apple's design philosophy actually inspired the Bethesda team.
Skyrim's lead designer Craig Lafferty told our man on the ground in L.A how the massive overhaul given to the menu systems in the series has Apple at its core:
"We're all actually really big Apple fans, so a slick user-interface was one of the things we really wanted to do - make it feel really natural and polished
"We worked so that you get the information but it feels more natural and more inviting. But there's no one influence in particular we just wanted to get away from the spreadsheet feel and make it natural and fun. You're going to be in the menu a lot so we wanted to make it enjoyable to use."
You can hear everything else Lafferty had to say about Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls series by watching our video interview with the man himself.
