While a worldwide 2011 PS Vita launch was implied by Sony at its E3 press conference, US PlayStation boss Jack Tretton has cast doubt on the possibility.
Speaking to Reuters, the executive reportedly said Vita would go on sale in Japan by the end of the year, while launches in some territories could yet be pushed to 2012.

It would be nice for Sony to remember that PAL territories got PS3 last, quite a while after Japan and America, and for us to not be left until last this time. Though we did get Move first, but that's not the same as a new platform.
I'm trying to stay positive about this - there's still a good chance for us to get it this year. And if we don't, then at least there'll likely be more games for us to choose from when we do get it.

PAL includes all of Europe and Australia and for sure arround 30M accounts. Plus I know lots of Europeans with US accounts.

Hmm well how many PSV games are actually ready to be launched? They should hold off until theres at least 10+ big launch games and that will help persuade people to purchase it.
