E3 2011: Arkham City dev 'wouldn't rule out' other superhero games

But working on Batman is a privilege and an honor, says Rocksteady co-founder

Other superheroes could get the Arkham Asylum treatment from Rocksteady, if the developer finds itself inspired in a similar way to how it has been with the Dark Knight.

"I wouldn't rule anything out," Rocksteady co-founder told us in L.A. "What drives us is the passion of the games we want to make so I wouldn't sat we definitely wouldn't do anything at this time.

"I think it's going to be whatever inspires the team. Whatever inspires the team, that's what we're going to do and it might be another character."

The Caped Crusader clearly has a special place in Rocksteady's studio heart though. Hill went on to talk about the Batman nerd culture that thrives in the office.

I don't think they want to be known just for superhero games, do they? I think that they should give a go at new IP, at least that way if it flopped they could make another Batman game. A sequel to Urban Chaos Riot Response would be nice but I don't think they should make one....maybe they could make a DC comics fighting game.... hmmm :?:

I'd love to see what they could do with the Hulk! But I'm also crying out for a good free-roaming Spidey game!

i would love them to do a green arrow game, or have a bunch of other justice league characters, like wonder women, or if they could the flash, but I'm sure WB will be asking if they could do a superman game, a proper superman game, if they did, they could and should base it on the smallville clark, i.e someone who is learning about their powers and as such isn't completely invincible yet, otherwise a superman game won't be fun. maybe even drop in batman into said game, as such and cross overs, after all the justice league are cool and should be in game form, with out being some s**te beat'm'up.

I doubt any of that would happen, all will get is batman 3, with robin..............

Yeah, I agree with the first comment - I'd like to see them do a new IP. I absolutely love Arkham Asylum, and I reckon Arkham City will end up being one of my all time favourite games. It's just they're obviously very talented developers and I don't want to see them confined to making just superhero games.

A sequel to Superman 64, with similar mechanics, is what everyone has been craving.

Why wouldn't they? To be the only developer who can make great superhero games would be a pretty big deal tbh.

Maybe they can make a superman game, I've been wanting a good one :(

A Blade game similar to Arkham City would be brilliant.
