An E3 without a stunningly produced CG trailer for The Old Republic was feeling mighty strange indeed, until this little beauty showed up.
The introductory cinematic for the long-awaited Star Wars MMO leaves no nerd-stone unturned.
Built entirely around the pattern of the escape from the original Death Star, it also makes for a fun game of spot the reference. Can you spot the Han Solo-like character? The Millennium Falcon replacement? How about the Vader's arrival riff, and the moment you feel you need to shout "Don't get cocky, kid!"?
As always, go full screen for HD.
Just watch it. For a few minutes at least your midi-chlorian count will skyrocket.

Looks like it will be good, would be cool if they made a few videos like this one, like clone wars but better!

I don't want the game but as a terms of cutscenes Bioware make awesome ones, this is good but I prefer the Jedi vs sith cinematic; now that blew up my and made me pretend I had a lightsabre when I was the only person in the room.

Their few cinematics are better then all three prequel movies

One thing that bus, me and I know its being picky, is, if this game is supposedly set 3,500 years prior to the films, why do the soldiers look almost identical to the clone army/stormtroopers!

Those mocking the prequel films would do well to remember that these games, or their cinematics for that matter, wouldn't exist without them - regardless of their faults.

that got me excited

I thought that too...
Evidentally those 3,500 years brought nothing to the table in terms of new technology, fashion, or conflict resolutions!
Probably best to just think of this game as non-cannon? The dude in the hat was almost a direct re-imagining of Han Solo with a bit of Indiana Jones thrown in.

they sold me the game with this trailer.
i finally wrapped the x-wing ambitions up with rogue leader on the cube but i'm still waiting on a lightsaber sim and a free roaming galaxy where i can be han solo.
kotor 3 (cos that's what it is, even HK-47 is back. meatbags
) looks to have the han solo bit sorted.
yep, looks like i'll be upgrading my pc for this.
oh and what person in their right minds mentions midi whatever the f*ck? that's one of those times where george completely lost it.
"For my ally is the force and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.” yoda talking to luke in empire strikes back.
at no point does yoda mention symbiosis. NO. it did not happen. ignore that s**t in phantom menace kids, it's a very grave misstep by the creator. not as bad as greedo shooting first in mos eisley in the special editions but bad all the same.
phew, feel better now.

Jawdropping cinematic. I was getting into as if it were a movie, a shame it had to end.

Damn that was great.
Bioware for a SW film or tv series anyone?

Awesome quality CGI- but why did the Smuggler guy have to do a little spin after he shot?
That's right- after all that awesomeness- that's what I took from the trailer.

Bioware's CG impresses, but my word they go for the cheesiest voice actors!
