Konami has jumped on board the HD collection train in a big way; not only is there a Metal Gear Solid HD and Zone of the Enders collection on the way, but it's also confirmed a Silent Hill collection's in the pipeline too.

However, Konami has said the Silent Hill box which features Silent Hill 2 and 3 with trophy support and redone voice work, will only be available on the PS3 PlayStation 3 when it is released later this year.

Konami also announced Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the NG... sorry, PlayStation Vita at E3 earlier this week.

Nice I haven't played any of the silent hill series and these will take me ages to complete. My nerves get shredded to easily and can only play scary games for about 30 minutes at a time.

    Are they definitley worth getting?

StoneCold, isn't it about time you took the plunge and bought a PS3? You seem to like the look of so many of its exclusives, and as someone who clearly appreciates games, it seems daft to deprive yourself of all the extra goodness.

Absolutely, Silent Hill 2 in my opinion is the greatest psychological video game out there, the storyline and atmosphere is fascinating. And as for Silent Hill 3, you'll have trouble getting 10 seconds in! it's pretty intense, The newer games are lacking any real punch, intensity or storyline that's decent compared to the first three .

bit of a dumb move TBH,not sure why have they done this when Silent Hill 4,Homecoming and the upcoming Downpour are all on the xbox?

and with it being 'later this year',with the dozen other must have titles, then yeah i think i will skip it altogether,i still have my PS2 versions

I bet it'll literally be a port of the PC versions of both anyway as well. very strange move. Still i'll probably pick it up eventually.

These were the best games in the serise and were born on the Playstation, so I think they just want to keep it that way.

I wouldn't think so, there completely re-skinning the game and the fact there redoing the voice over work wouldn't make it a literal translation. I'm hoping we might get some added goodies.

    In know, I know!

I honestly have been meaning to pick up a PS3 for about 3 years now  , however everytime I think, right, now is the time to buy one, I end up getting something else instead; new flat, new TV, couch, holiday, crazy weekends.

I still keep waiting for a price drop and was amazed there wasnt one for the 360 and PS3 at this years E3. As soon as that happens, you can bet Ill pick up one up then, Ive had my PS3 username for about 2 years now  .

Why are SH2 and SH4 on Xbox but not Silent Hill 3 ?

I'd rather it was the Silent Hill collection and not the MGS collection. It is quite bizzare that they would make it exclusive to start with. I would have only really been intrested in SH2 because that was fantastic. I never played the third fully, only the demo(In a mall if I remember correctly) and it didn't seem as good as the previous.

    Oh well.

Thats true, but they were ports of the playstation version, you won't find Silent HILL 1 or 3 on any other console.

I assume the reason for that was because SH3 was a direct sequel to the original Silent Hill which as off today has only been released on the Playstation and PSN.

You need to play the first game before you play three as it's a direct sequel, and some would argue the best of the series, it's a great game and one not to Ignore. Also it's early days, so they could be released multi-platform.

Bummer just flogged my PS3 (and no not because of the PSN crisis) purely because it did not get anywhere near enough playtime but I love Silent Hill, it'll maybe end up on the Box one day.

Hugs and kisses for both of you: SH2 is THE best survival horror game ever made. Amazing atmosphere and mature story, RE4 my a*se. Although that was good.

Would have loved to have seen a trilogy released of the first three games. If they re-done the 1st game to be on-par visually with 2, Would have been a dream come true, in a nice trilogy card case like the second game was released in.
No.2 in my opinion is the best in the series, if you haven't played it, he sure to pick up this HD remake.
