Epic Games has stated that it cannot see a time that Gears Of War will be playable on PlayStation 3 "for the foreseeable future".
Speaking at GDC in March, Epic boss Mike Capps said that he'd "love" to bring the studio's biggest franchise to Sony's console, adding that he "wants to be there".
Bleszinski was asked if Epic would consider porting Gears to PlayStation, or just starting on a new IP altogether for the system.
"I would love to work on new IP, I'm a big believer in just creating new universes," he told GameTrailers. "We have a great deal with Microsoft. It's a great setup, I mean multiplatform games... Call Of Duty's huge, right?
"But the way that we have our setup with Microsoft, when you combine the marketing benefits, the usability benefits, them helping out with dedicated servers... it just makes more sense [to us] for Gears Of War to remain an Xbox exclusive for the foreseeable future.""
Speaking to CVG at E3, Bleszinzki revealed his wish to release a Gears game in some form on Apple's iPhone and other mobile devices - one which 'communicated' with the main game on Xbox 360.
Gears Of War 3 is due for release exclusively on Xbox in September.

So again, like all the others..I hope it stay's exclusive..Gears is meant to be played on 360 and needs to stay that way...but it's not looking likely.

Theres only one 360 series I'd like to play and thats Left 4 Dead but it doesn't look like Valve have any plans for that to come to PS3 in the foreseeable future.

I accept that fan baiting is not acceptable, but at what point do you draw the line between opinion and fan baiting. i complained about a poster talking out his behind after he reported me, and was told he couldnt be warned/banned on basis of being a moronic fanboy who posted total utter crap all the time, and it was provocative in nature too. Punish the guy for his past posts, but not for this one, as if everytime someone says a game is crap you decide to war them, it will me a lot of ppl getting banned. I hate fanboys on either side, but there needs to be a certain amount of free speech too

Anyway, I have all consoles and its no secret that I play the PS3 more (for a variety of reasons)... one of the reasons that I still own a 360 is because of GOW. I think its a great game (marred by zero control in the online experience - too many kids, too much racism/homophobia and general awful behaviour that destroys a really compelling OL experience) and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the story ends up.

this is out of date and its undoubtable that all the franchises will have sold more than listed above, but take into account that halo reach sold 3.3 million copies in first month, then its unlikely that it hasnt topped 5 million since release.

You are correct Cod is without doubt the biggest franchise in world, Halo is the second biggest, Gran Turismo actually comes in 3rd with over 6 million sales on GT5, and then Gears which have hit 5 million or so each.
Its a big franchise without doubt, no one argued other wise, and Gears 3 will probably hit 5 million easily and maybe 6, 7 or 8 million lifetime sales, but the majority of those will be in USA where shooting games are the core diet of the 360 dominated userbase.
Id be suprised to see UC3 hit less than 5 million sales, but this isnt even close to Halo and the likely Gears 3 sales. Does this mean Gears is actually a great game, of course not, Okami hardly sold any copies, but was a great game, sales are not a indicator of quality.
Many people love this game, and if they do, great, its just not a great game in my opinion, its a good one, but not a great one, and much of the love for it came, as it was the first game this gen to really show what the hd consoles could do.

Sony fans have missed out on a great franchise here, Id be excited for them to finally experience it, same way I was excited to get hold of LA Noire on my xbox when it lost its exclusivity.
I own both consoles, would keep Gears on the xbox as thats where I have played the others (same as Mass Effect) but my PS3 only friends would be over the moon.

Gears is like Uncharted for me. Used as an example of the best of the system, not ground breaking, but it's good fun and plays well. On/off line co-op is the thing that's made me play it the most, that and horde.That said I probably haven't touched either of them for 18 months or so.
You have to play it though. Unless it's a genre you really don't like, it's almost impossible to get an idea of the fun you'll get from a game just by watching vids.

The thing is though, how long can ms keep rinsing and repeating gears and halo, even bungie got bored of making halo. I can say without doubt halo online is a game with a fantastic array of modes, but to say it's far and away beyond any ps3 exclusive is just bs. What exactly sets it apart so much? I wasn't that interested in it, and found the whole bunny hop thing just s**te. I would always chose bad company 2 over it and prefer kz3 over it online too. The sp on halo are pretty awesome though . Same applies for gears, what exactly is so far and away better?? Run and shoot , run and shoot. Never seen that before ! Give me uc3 with it's multi level environments that you can traverse around and take advantage of, as opposed to big bulky characters that run around environments that are set on almost one plane .
This is not meant to offend anyone who likes these games btw, just my view of those two games, and I know a lot of people love both halo and gears online, but they did nothing for me.
The userbase on ms games like halo and gears are always bigger, and this is I'm their favour no doubt , but shock and surprise at the biggest selling franchises on 360 all being shooter/fps?? Not really , but if this is what constitutes as hardcore to u, well I'm not hard core, as fps's whilst a genre I enjoy , are definitely not my raison d'être .

MS definitely need more games, Gears hasn't done too badly by this gen's standards (same number of Resistance and UC games in less time), but by the time Halo 4 comes out MS will have released five Halo games in 2007-2012. They're good fun to play and Crysis 2 aside, Reach was my probably my favourite FPS (more open levels, co-op, firefight etc), but MS will come unstuck, if they're not already.
Although if they're making plenty of money with kinect, XBL and the multi platform stuff, then why would they change? Sony have released truck loads of 'better' exclusives in the last couple of years, but they've had a relatively limited effect. None of the companies will care, they will do what they see if the best way to make money - I just think MS are being a tad short term. Ask Nintendo, the casual market can't be relied on forever!
