Tekken Hybrid slips out after E3 chaos

Tekken Tag Tournament HD and Tekken CGI movie bundled for PS3

Here's one that managed to slip quietly under the radar among the overwhelming noise of E3 week; Tekken Hybrid.

It's a game/movie bundle for PS3 that packs a HD version of Tekken Tag Tournament with a copy of the awesome-looking new CGI Tekken movie, Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D on a single Blu-ray disc.

Tekken Tag Tournament was a PS2 launch title and allowed players to choose two fighters, swapping between them mid-battle to create new combo possibilities. No features were announced for the PS3 version other than the obvious boost in resolution.

As for the movie, here's the official overview: "TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D follows Xiaoyu Ling, seasoned martial artist and high school student, tasked by the G Corporation to infiltrate an international school in Kyoto to gather information on the mysterious student Shin Kamiya. Before she can make any progress in the investigation, Shin is kidnapped by an unknown assailant. Digging deeper into Shin's background in an attempt to rescue him, Xiaoyu learns about the frightening underbelly of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima...and the late Heihachi Mishima's conspiracy that's stained with blood."

The Tekken Hybrid bundle will be out later this year. No price was announced. Check out the trailer below. Looks pretty sweet.
