Duke Nukem Forever will sell close to 2m units - Analyst

Bad reviews won't affect it, says Bhatia

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has said he expects Take-Two and Gearbox's Duke Nukem Forever to sell between 1.5 and 2 million units despite its negative reviews from critics.

According to the industry analyst first day sales of Duke Nukem Forever have been "mediocre" but is expected to sell into the lower-end of the projected sales.

Bhatia went on to say he believes publisher Take Two "was conservative in its unit assumptions on Duke Nukem" and the "one-off title" is unlikely to reflect negatively on the company.

"Overall, we believe management was conservative in its guidance on this title," reads the Sterne Agee report.

Duke Nukem Forever's Metacritic average ranges from the low 50s on the Xbox 360, to 65 on PlayStation 3 and 76 on PC. It was crowned No.1 on the official UK All Formats Chart despite this.
