A new PlayStation 3 model has been announced for release in Japan, sporting less weight and lower power consumption than the current PS3 Slim.
Sony Japan reveals the new SKU, which is set to release some time this month, cuts power consumption from 230W to 200W and weight from 3.0kg to 2.6kg.
The 320GB machine has also had some changes made to its power and eject buttons and the LED lamps are no more, according to Andriasang.
Pricing will apparently remain the same for the new model, although Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot has said he expects both the PS3 and 360 to receive price cuts later this year.
Namco Bandai's also planning a special edition Tales of Xillia X version of the updated PS3, which is set to come in 160GB format and looks pretty smashing indeed.
We'll chuck SCE Europe an e-mail to see if and when we'll be able to run to the shops and buy this.
