Sega looks set to release a surprise demo of 20th anniversary game, Sonic Generations on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network tomorrow.

[UPDATE: The EU PlayStation Network update's confirmed it.]
The demo will only be accessible for 20 days, says the site and on July 12 it will disappear from PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace. Downloaded versions of the trial will expire on that date and will no longer run, it's said.
Andriasang notes that in Japan, PSN is still not back online following the infamous hacking saga. Sega's apparently stated that the July 12 expiration date applies to the Japanese PS3 version regardless of when PSN's restored in the region.
Exciting stuff. We're looking forward to trying this out. You can read more details on the game in our debut Sonic Generations preview.

I'll give this a download to see if I'll buy or not. Either way at the moment I'll pick this up in a sale or price drop due to the busy period it's out.

I'll get the demo, but after the dullness of Sonic 4 Episode 1 it's going to take a lot to convince me to buy.

wasn't there last night/early morning but it is there on xbox live now i just played it about 10 mins ago and it's quite brilliant, it's 20X better than sonic 4, it is in fact what sonic 4 should have been. Sadly no boss fight to see though.
