LA Noire confirmed for PC with 3D support

PC version out this autumn, Rockstar confirms

Rockstar's announced LA Noire for release on PC this autumn.

The PC version is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, will run on "a wide range of PCs" and feature customization, including keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality, says Rockstar.

More excitingly, the house of GTA promises improved graphical enhancements and 3D support for the mouse and keyboard version.

"L.A. Noire is a new type of game that makes players see through a detective's eyes in 1940s Los Angeles," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. "Its unique blend of story, action and crime solving will be perfect to play on PC."

The console version of the Team Bondi-developed crime thriller was released in May, quickly shipping 4 million units to become the fastest-selling new game IP in UK history.

Congratulations PC gamers. Now you can play a puzzle game that solves itself by finding all the clues for you, and adjusting the story so that you solve the case even if you fail all the interrogations. You can also play a game with possibly the worst shooting mechanics in recent history. But yeah, I admit, the facial reconstructions are amazing.

I'd just decided that I probably won't bother with this game on PS3 - was tempted, but decided against. Now it's coming to PC I'm definately getting it.

I've also decided that I won't bother Red Dead - PC would definately change my mind on that too...

Sweeeeeeet, hope Red Dead Redemption is coming our way too soon. I really want to play RDR more.

And hope GFWL is murdered in this game everyone will be a suspect!

Would that be as wide a range of PCs as GTA4? Which was horribly, horribly ported

Hell Yeah ! Now patiently waiting for RDR

  16. SWiscool on 23 Jun '11 said:

That's good news. I'd really like it if RDR came to PC, though.

nice one, but yeah RDR too would be nice.

Red Dead Redemption and I'm all ears.

It'll look really purdy on PC, or should at least. Still, even RDR is a game that feels ultimately a pretty poor experience to me. It's a s**t game set in a beautifully created world. At times, the world makes it a joy, but that's it sadly.

Not bothered by 3D support, but bringing LA Noire to PC is good news.

Been holding off grabbing this for the 360 in hope of a PC release, it would be smashing if RDR was confirmed for PC too.

  22. Welsh Jester on 24 Jun '11 said:

3D on PC is largely useless, drops framerate so much that you can't enjoy the game unless you play it on hardware 2-3 years after the game is out

No multiplayer? RDR would have been a better game to port to PC rather than this game.

Seems more of a console game

Why not call this story "Free LA Noir, coming to a Bit Torrent site soon".

Because that's the usual drivel that comes from a console fanboy.
