Grezzo was so committed to deliver Legend of Zelda: Ocarina on Time to 3DS is just the way fans remembered it that it even intentionally left in some of the bugs.
That's according to Grezzo's Shun Moriya, who said during a recent Iwata Asks interview (via Kotaku), that the bugs in the N64 original were fun.
"As programmers, we wanted to get rid of bugs," he said. "But the staff members who had played the old game said the bugs were fun."
He went on: "It wouldn't be fun if your friends couldn't say, 'Do you know about this?' So we left them in if they didn't cause any trouble and were beneficial."
It's not a 100% (im)perfect recreation though. "If something simply could not be allowed to stand, we begrudgingly fixed it, so some bugs don't appear," explained Moriyama. "But we left in as many as we could, so people will grin over that."
Head through here to see how much CVG and just about everyone else who reviewed Ocarina of Time 3D reckons it's still one of the best games ever after all these years.
