Blizzard's Titan is 'a casual MMO' - analyst

New IP from World of Warcraft dev expected to launch in 2013

Blizzard's secret development project, codenamed Titan, is "a new casual MMO".

That's according to an investor report from Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia (via Gama), who claims Activision Blizzard's product line-up "will look much more diversified over the next 12-24 months".

The title has been described by Blizzard as its "next-gen MMO project". The studio has also said the game is the "most ambitious" thing it has ever attempted" and has the potential to "eclipse" World of Warcraft.

Bhatia's reference to the game as a casual MMO isn't entirely surprising, given comments made by Blizzard COO Paul Sams in March.

"We're very confident in that product," he said. "It's an awesome one. We're playing it already. It is a total ball to play. We think that the reach of that product is greater than anything that we've done before."

Bhatia said he expects Titan to launch in 2013. According to supposedly leaked Blizzard documents, Titan is due for release in the fourth quarter of 2013, alongside WoW's fifth expansion pack.
