GC 2011: Diablo 3, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm confirmed for GamesCom

Blizzard's confirmed that the long-awaited, media shy third Diablo title will be playable at GamesCom in Cologne, which takes place mid-August.

The news comes via an official statement released on Blizzard's Polish Battle.net portal, which details Blizzard's presence at the event next month and also mentions a playable version of Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm.

"The world's largest gaming convention will be held this year in Cologne, Germany, from 18 to 21 August, and Blizzard Entertainment's massively mark its presence there," the statement reads.

"We have prepared for you, not just exhibition matches, live raids, competitions and other attractions, but also three great games, in which every visitor will be able to play.

"Gamescom present at this year's Diablo III, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and for the first time in a playable version in Europe, Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm. Do not miss this unique opportunity to personally try out these three games, win prizes and cheer professional players in StarCraft II, and the teams fighting in the arena of World of Warcraft. Earlier this year Blizzard said it's 'targeting Q3 2011' release for the public beta of Diablo 3, but didn't provide an exact time frame for the final release.

    I'm not gonna be satisfied by a Diablo III beta. I want the full retail game. And for the love of god Deckard Cain should still be in it.
