Star Wars R2-D2 Xbox 360: Microsoft responds to rumour

Platform holder remaining coy - and not a little cheeky

Microsoft has responded to rumours that it is to introduce an R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 onto the market - in cheeky fashion.

Reports from earlier this week suggested the platform holder is preparing a special blue and white version of the console to coincide with the release of Kinect Star Wars later this year.

When asked about the rumour, an MS spokesperson told CVG: "As you know, rumours are rumours and we don't comment on them. May the force be with you."

A sly nod to some exciting Star Wars-related news to come - or a mere dismissal?

We've certainly got our fingers crossed that the rumours are true. One can never have too much Star Wars memorabilia. Unless it's Jar-Jar Binks, naturally.

Catch up on all the details details and the very swish E3 trailer for Kinect Star Wars through here.

If this thing ends up looking like that Donald Duck Gears of War case the world would be seriously p**sed off with a case that has googly eyes and giant ears. It's more than likely even if true just to be some painted design on it. But how awesome (but terribly annoying after a while) would it be if it beeped like R2 whenever you ejected the tray?

I think they're looking at this wrong. instead of a r2d2 xbox why not an r2d2 kinect.

You won't have to buy the game to get the xbox so does it matter if it looks b*****ks or not?
