Microsoft's announced a pair of pre-order rewards for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, which is due out on Xbox 360 on November 15.

Master Chief Avatar Armour - Heroes never die, and to honour the 10th Anniversary of John 117, you will finally be able to transform your Xbox LIVE Avatar into the iconic hero by outfitting it with Master Chief's signature MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armour.
"Grunt Funeral" Skull - An exclusive, game-modifying skull that changes the rules of the game for an explosively humorous experience, "Grunt Funeral" sends "Halo's" most lowly and lovable enemy out in a blaze of glory. And plasma. And then more glory. Once the skull has been activated, every grunt's methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed. Watch out for the grunt chain reaction!
More Halo news is almost certain to land this week, with the 'Halo Universe' panel set to happen at ComicCon in San Diego on Friday evening.
Frank O'Connor, Kevin Grace and others from 343 Industries will discuss the first 10 years of Halo, says Microsoft, and offer "a sneak peek into what's next for this exciting sci-fi universe".

Ok.....well for anyone getting the game, at least it's not in a limited edition so you don't have to pay extra.

Huh I thought the Master Chief avatar items would have already been on the Market on account of the fact of it being the biggest Xbox Character.

I don't want that crap. I want an Artbook, Soundtrack, maybe a Behind The Scenes Dvd and Special Packaging. Not a dlc card inside a normal box = Normal Edition. Also, this "from selected retailers" b$ is really starting to anger me. Its basically entrapment, forcing you to buy from a certain shop or go without, and in doing so takes away the fundamental right of a consumer to choose. Its got to be illegal surely.

The armour is Mark V not Mark VI that you can get on the marketplace, not counting Reach armour however that is Spartain III variant.

Fair enough. I'm not much of a Halo fan so I never really noticed.

This is a pre-order incentive not limited edition content. This is just a few things you get for pre-ordering any version of the game
I'm sure if they decide to make a special edition it's going to come with a lot more.
How is this entrapment? I'd understand your whining if they made it so that you wouldn't get content that was NEEDED not WANTED unless you purchased at a certain store. Are you really going to die without that avatar armor because you choose to purchase at another store? Is that grunt skull really going to be the make or break thing for you?

No mate, I don't care about "avatar items" in the least. Maybe I misread the article, but I was talking more about proper special editions of games that are only exclusive to a certain retailer. Take Forza 4 for example. The special edition is only available through Game. Sure there's nothing that is "NEEDED" but a lot of stuff is "WANTED" (as you put it) that a collector or a fan can only get by buying the game through the selected retailer forcing you out of a choice which as I said is a fundamental consumer right, in other words - entrapment.
