If you were crossing your fingers in hopes for a Twisted Metal multiplayer beta before the game's full launch, it sounds like you might be disappointed.

Without being too specific the producer said a game like Twisted Metal doesn't need a very large beta testing phase, according to GameSpot, and that a private beta would garner the 'more focused' results they require.
In the same presentation Jaffe also denied knowledge of the possibility of a Twisted Metal Collector's Edition, and confirmed the game's ESRB M-rating. Check out the latest gameplay footage if the game in action here.

PS3 betas tend to attract a lot of criticism so I'd say they've made a good decision. I have a feeling the finished product will receive lots of support post launch to add to and enhance aspects of the gameplay.

Well if theres no beta then there'd better be a demo, I've never played a Twisted Metal before and I don't intend on handing 40 notes over for it without at least trying it. If not then I'll just wait a fortnight and it'll be twenty quid
.
Sorry Jaffe, I'm liking the look of TW but I'm liking the look of Arkham City and Battlefield 3 a lot more.

yes, because no online game needs large scale testing before release.

The problem with open beta's these days is that most people treat them as demos. How many people actually report issues?

This sounds like something that might come back to bite them in the ass. Betas are made to be criticised so you can find out what people like and hate. A private beta isn't really the most effective thing to do.

You took the words right from my brain. With such a busy period coming up a demo or a beta is a must. There is to many bigger titles out this year for me to put down cash on a game I've never played.
