Battlefield 3 co-op mode revealed

Eight new screens released too

DICE has just revealed and played through a new Battlefield 3 co-op Mode at GamesCom in Cologne.

Patrick Soderlund and Karl Magnus worked together on-stage to make their way through a building of AI on the PS3.

The mission, which is playable at the EA booth at GamesCom required the pair to rescue a high-value target and escort him to safety.

The co-op mode features the full range of Battlefield gameplay including ground and air vehicles, missions and tight urban warfare, and appears to be a standalone set of missions unconnected to the campaign. We'll bring you more as it comes.

For now though, check below for eight new Battlefield 3 screens straight out of GamesCom.
