GC 2011: Journey trailer and screens leave us wanting more

What's going on? We don't know, but we can't wait to explore

thatgamecompany has us gripped once again. Flower was as bizarre as it was intriguing before we got our hands on it, and it turned out brilliantly. Journey has us even more intrigued by its open expanses and alternative take on what a videogame can be.

The video shows the mysterious lead characters swooping majestically around more of the open desert land we've seen in media before, but here she appears to meet another key character in the game. Hmm...

thatgamecompany has confirmed that a beta for its upcoming PSN game is on the way. No details other than its confirmation were offered.

    Limbo was awesome! A very different game to what Journey will presumably be but no less creative and original.

    The great thing about opinions is that I can laugh at them. Thanks for the giggle.

    I'm liking the simple look of this game but there is just something not grabbing me about it the same way Flower and Flow did. They were unique experiences sure but once they were over, they were over. I think it might be the point of adding in multiplayer into this, which would no doubt end up making me question what the hell we were doing when we were doing nothing. What exactly does the Journey experience involve? I've not seen anything yet (probably due to my own ignorance) which shows what it is you can actually do in this.
