GC 2011: Dark Souls trailer threatens death from every angle

Dragons, fire, packs of enemies and close encounters aplenty

Namco Bandai's latest Dark Souls trailer doesn't provide any surprises - not that we're complaining.

The video features everything Demon's Souls fans have come to love and fear: large dragons, fire, packs of enemies and close encounters. There's also a few seconds of multiplayer gameplay on show.

Namco Bandai has confirmed Dark Souls will be delayed by a week in Japan. It was originally scheduled for release on September 15, but will now hit stores seven days later on September 22. It arrives in Europe on October 7.

Reminds me of Newcastle's big market on a Friday night, but friendlier.

I was a bit surprised when it opened with a dragon holding a halberd. Were you expecting guns? I kid, I kid.

I still can't get into Demon's Souls, it just feels clunky to play it. :(

This is going to be such a stellar year for games. Just a shame they're all coming out around the same time!
