GC 2011: Shinobi 3DS screens sneak in

Sega has released a few new screenshots showing off the upcoming Shinobi title being developed for 3DS.

Developed by Griptonite Games, Shinobi will feature classic side-scrolling action gameplay presented in 2.5D and mixed with "several exciting new features such as StreetPass and a large assortment of achievements and challenges to unlock".

Here's the game's official blurb:

Shinobi tells the story of Jiro Musashi, the leader of the Oboro clan and father of Joe Musashi, the hero of the first iterations of Shinobi. Players will become a true ninja legend by mastering a brand new combo system switching between melee, ranged and acrobatic attacks. They will also need to rely on Jiro's ninja magic to get an advantage over their enemies and get out of tight spots.

Although the game was originally scheduled to release in September, Sega delayed its release to November 15.

    Yeah, judging by the screenshots alone it looks more than a little bit cack, but lets wait until we see the game running before jumping to any conclusions.

    1st generation n64 games look more detailed than this - graphics like these would be forgiveable in DLC but as a full price game? No. Just look at the recent and absolutely jaw dropping Resi Evil Revelations demo - it's actually Vita quality in terms of graphics - then look at this. . . a 2D game :roll:
