3DS has 2nd best week in Japan

While Monster Hunter beats Pokemon on the latest software chart

As reported earlier this week, 3DS sales rocketed in Japan following the introduction of the price cut, propelling the portable to the top of the hardware chart for the week ended August 14.

3DS sold 196,077 units, according to Media Create data, representing its second best week since launching in February.

PSP and PS3 took second and third place respectively, with both systems seeing a slight increase in sales, while Wii, DSi LL and DSi continued to outpace Xbox 360.

On the software front, a Monster Hunter offshoot beat a Pokemon one to the top of the chart, while Everyone's Rhythm Heaven, Atsumete! Kirby and Uta no Prince Sama Repeat rounded off the top five, Andriasang reports.
