Sony's budget model given the once over

Photos of Sony's new budget PSP model have started to hit the net.

PSP Screenshot
Kotaku's provided a few high res shots of the device at different angles, side-by-side with its predecessor, and even inside the new PSP's UMD drive. The dirty scoundrels. We've stuck some of the shots up here, as you can see.

PSP-E1000 was announced earlier this week during Sony's GamesCom press conference. It has a new look and feel, along with a €99 price tag.

I like the matte, I wish more companies went with it, I hate cleaning dust and fingerprints off of all my super glossy gadgets :(

If it wasn't for the two extra buttons it could be a Sega Game Gear. 8)

I didn't think a handheld could look worse than the 3DS. Well done Sony. When I heard the news of this being released I was excited to think I might be able to buy a PSP again. The matte finish is ugly. The touch panel is ugly. The one speaker is stupid.

No, was it in the article or something...I only look at pictures. I would pay £29.99 for that :) Although I have a bad feeling it will be in the realms of £79.99...

I don’t think the PSP is supposed to look good this far down the line anyway.

think it looks all right without being man handled by grubby mitts.

could be tempted for GTA games, china wars is on this too i think. and what about emulators for mario games??

MILKING IT!!! Just reduce the existing one further!

Once this gets cracked it could actually be a tempting purchase, I know there are consoles designed for running homebrew/emulators such as the Wiz and Caanoo but the PSP has the advantage of running PSP games too.
