A few new Borderlands 2 screenshots packed to bursting point with all kinds of colours have made their way online.
While the previous game's cel-shaded art style certainly made it stand out, the actual colour palette was limited mostly to dark browns and dusty yellows. Variety seems to be the big push in the sequel as you can probably tell from the screens.
Along with the wasteland and city type environments, there's also a shot of a snow filled area, with the game's newly revealed, as yet unnamed character taking on a couple of behemoths, and a lush green location with some colourful bat-like creatures hanging around.
According to early reports, enemies and NPCs in Borderlands 2 will have improved AI, be able to shift around the environments better and have "interactive dialogue". Bandits will also carry specific weapons depending on their class and will "take on a much more varied form".
The sequel will release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
