Fulham is the latest Premier League football club to sign a deal to become an EA Sports 'Official Video Game Partner'.

Throughout the season, Fulham and EA Sports will be holding a range of Club events and experiences that Fulham fans will be able to get involved in.
These include a bespoke FIFA 12 trailer (that's the vehicle kind) which will be present at Craven Cottage on selected match days, EA Sports branding on the LED perimeter board and a Pro Player Tournament at the club's training ground to determine which Fulham player is best.
EA will also be producing a Fulham specific FIFA 12 game sleeve which fans will be able to download for free from the club's website (www.fulhamfc.com) around the launch of FIFA 12.
We bet Fulham Fans will still have to play in "Forest Park Stadium" in the actual game, but at least Dempsey's on the box.
Nick Harford, Football Business Lead at EA Sports said: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Fulham Football Club and look forward to providing a series of FIFA 12 gaming experiences for both fans at Craven Cottage and players at the Motspur Park training ground."
Alistair Mackintosh, CEO at Fulham Football Club said: "Partnering with EA SPORTS is a fantastic opportunity to offer our fans a unique gaming experience on match days at the ground, and on-line. We are very excited at the prospect of seeing our players in this state of the art game, and welcome EA SPORTS as Official Video Game Partner."
FIFA 12 is out on September 30.

Didn't see that one coming...
Wonder if Fulham deal was the same as City?
Anymore sides about to join in the nonsense?

*Waits for football fans to start moaning like when Man City were revealed*
Where is everyone? Seriously? It's been a good 20 minutes. United fans were ripping City fans a new one by now.
*Reads headline again*
Ah... Fulham.
*Walks off*

Mansfield Town next please.
The town could desperately use the £4.36 they'd get for the deal.

That's the player's wages covered for the week.
How would they spend the other 2 quid?

I hope Bolton does a deal like this. Doubt it since they need to sell players to buy anything, most of the time.

I'm not Craven FIFA anyway. These deals EA are doing are a bit Duff, it's becoming a right pain in the Johnson.

Well then? Where is everyone complaining and saying they won't but the game? I suppose it's ok when someone other than City does something. Good to see it branching out to other teams anyway, I reckon this kind of personalisation will be a real selling point if a lot more teams had special content.
rbt2 on 23 Aug '11 said:
Why?
Decent little side are Fulham. Never spend fortunes but finish in a respectable place all the time.
Besides, you do know there's only one effin' Fulham!
See waddi did there?

Not sure this potential alienating of fickle football fans is that good a move, kinda like if SKY wefre stupid enough to put some ferret faced, paedo tashed scum git like Gary Neville on your pundit team............. what?........... they already did
A game that is effectively whoring itself out to the highest bidder for what is effectivley advertising revenue whilst hiding behind the facade of 'special content' reeks a bit to me.

Nothing against Fulham at all mate, good little side.

So now we have to pay extra to get 3d head scans of the entire team? I thought we were getting that included already? What's next?
Are they going to remove the away kits and make us pay for those too?
I'm not even going to get started on the online pass..
I really do love FIFA and I've bought almost every FIFA since 2001. If they keep going at this rate, FIFA 12 will be the last FIFA game I ever buy .. it won't be worth buying new and they will sure as hell make sure it isn't worth buying used (just to spite us).
FlimFlam on 23 Aug '11 said:
Love FIFA. LOVE FIFA. But... This.
Content is fine. Man City specific arena, in game stuff, whatever, cool if you are a City fan, but the 3D headscan thing is BS. It benefits the entire aesthetic of the game, why isn't this done for all teams? Or is it (for the top league teams) but they are just making a fuss because the actual bonuses for Man City are fairly paltry?
Either way, poor show. It'll still be feckin' brilliant though.

RE: 3D Head Scanning for Man City
1. It's not costing customers any more than they paid for FIFA 11 so I don't why anyones moaning about paying extra.
2. Consider how many leagues, clubs, national teams etc are in the FIFA games, there will be 600-800 players minimum in the Premier League, multiply that number by four (estimated 2800 players), that covers the english leagues.
Now take into account the the other twenty or so leagues in the games.
Bottom line: Too time consuming and the cost to 3D Head Scan at a very rough guess 10,000 players, well just imagine how much that would cost to do.
