Disney survey reveals Epic Mickey 2 - report

Disney conducting online market research on the sequel, according to rumour

Development on Epic Mickey 2 is in full swing it seems, according to an anonymous tipster who says Disney is doing market research for the title now.

The source has told Destructoid that the Disney pole asks users to pick from a selection of titles for the game, including Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street, and just Epic Mickey 2.

This is backed up by a snapshot of one question that asks those polled to choose their favourite from a range of different box artworks for the game, which would suggest development on it is already pretty far along.

According to the report, the game will have a two-player split-screen option with Mickey and his brother Oswald The Lucky Rabbit playable, while Mickey's paint and thinner powers make a return.

It's being lined up for release on Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, claims the source, making no mention of 3DS, Vita or Wii U.

Warren Spector told press earlier this year that there was 'no shortage' of interesting challenges that could be tackled with a prospective sequel. And the original's 'strong' sales would certainly suggest a sequel is likely.

Never played the first one as do not have a Wii, so a PS3, Xbox 360 sequel is great news.

    Oh please be true! Please!
The first Epic Mickey wasn't perfect, but was disturbingly brilliant in its own way.
At times it felt like Banjo-Kazooie, in atmosphere at least.
I'd love to see a beautiful HD sequel, & if possible port the original to 3DS & Vita so I can play at work!
    So happy to hear this!!

The first game was interesting. If they can get the camera right in the second game it should be much improved over the original.

Loved the first game, but maybe that's because I am a Disney park veteran, so yes, I'd love a sequel. Hope Warren Spector's involved.

I'd rather see a HD version of the first epic mickey before they bother with a sequel as I was quite exited about it until they revealed it was Wii only.
