Epic Games has big aspirations for Gears of War 3 and already the sequel's breaking records, with Microsoft confirming 1.3 million pre-orders.
The news arrived alongside the announcement of the Gears of War 3 season pass, a 2400 MS Point (£20, $30) purchase that delivers fans four DLC packs with an overall 33 per cent discount.
The Season Pass will be purchasable from launch on September 20.
Time to get excited. A recently-released video shows the game's intro which tells the Gears of War story so far, and if you're looking forward to the new Horde 2.0 mode there's some new screenshots over here.

Even with over 1 million on pre order, Gears 3 seems to be going under the radar when people are talking about the big GOTY's for 2011, its all about Skyrim, UC3, Battlfield 3 & Batman etc. I reckon with what Epic have instore for the end of the trilogy and how jam packed the overall package is going to be, then this might just turn out to be a real GOTY year contender (in my eyes anyway).

I totally agree with you why the hell is it not getting more Hype and not just Gears what about Forza 4 too. That is the one game I'm most looking forward to this year. Forza 4 and Skyward Sword that is.
