Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Japanese launch has been delayed from this Thursday to next month.
Publisher Square Enix made the decision after uncovering an area in the game which included visual expressions forbidden by the nation's games ratings board.
The company didn't share the nature of the offending content, but said additional time would be needed to fix it, Andriasang reports.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been the UK's top-selling game for the past two weeks.
Square Enix shares have fallen over ten percent since yesterday's announcement of Wii and Wii U online RPG Dragon Quest X.
