EA says it's still targeting a calendar 2011 release for Star Wars: The Old Republic, but it isn't ready to commit to a launch date just yet.
As EA Labels boss Frank Gibeau told us last month, the game's release date is tied to data derived from the on-going beta testing. If all goes well it'll be available before Christmas, but EA has factored a potential delay to 2012 into its financial guidance.
"We have a date set internally [for calendar Q4], with a lot of assumptions around it," he said last night, according to Gamasutra.
"We're not done until we're done. ... We're not going to know with enough certainty to publicly announce a release date," until later this month or sometime in October, he added.
Earlier this week, BioWare postponed the EU beta testing program for The Old Republic.
