PlayStation Vita release date: December 17

Update: Sony confirms leaked release date - 26 launch titles confirmed

It seems Sony is keeping up its tradition of leaking everything before a press conference. With moments to go before its live press conference in Tokyo, pictures of its rehearsals have apparently hit the net.

Update: Sony has just confirmed the Vita release date as December 17. Prices will be 29,980 YEN for the 3G version and 24,980 YEN for the WiFi version.

The console will arrive with 26 games, but Sony says it will have 100 on shelves within the console's 'launch window' - an unspecified time frame.

Japanese pre-orders open start from October 15.
