The third Gears of War instalment is a much more emotional affair than its predecessors, but Traviss talked us through the benefits of that in a war story.
"I think there's still a hangover in some parts of the games industry that story is girly," she suggested. "But if you are engaged with that character it becomes much more of a life or death story and you can immerse in it more."
