Dead Island: Possible DLC delay as dev focuses on patches

Techland committed to flushing out the game's bugs

Techland is hard at work polishing up the last few issues present in Dead Island, but this may lead to a delay in the planned DLC packs.

"Right now the Dead Island development team's priority is working on fixes and updates across all platforms so that we can take care of all of the fans who have been so supportive of our game," a rep from publisher Deep Silver has told Kotaku.

So far the developer has had to rush out a new version of the PC game (because it originally released the 'incorrect version') and a huge patch to tie down a long list of glaring errors, shortly followed by another patch this week released for the Xbox 360 version (PC and PS3 equivalents are around the corner).

Deep Silver recently confirmed that the first download pack for Dead Island, titled 'Bloodbath Arena', will be released in late September, but that plan may change.

The rep added: "There is some awesome DLC content planned for Dead Island, but first we have to put all our focus on the base game experience."

Right way to go, we reckon.
