Rock Band developer Harmonix may step outside of its music-centric comfort zone and make a game of a different nature in the not so distant future.
Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos told Joystiq: "I think we're always open-minded about new opportunities."
While Rigopulos asserts,"Our focus always has been and probably always will be on music-themed games," he goes on to confess that working on Dance Central for Kinect has struck a chord with the developer.
"A perfect example is the Kinect, which I think that through our work on Dance Central we've developed an affinity for -- towards motion gaming," he said.
"It wouldn't be surprising if in the future we took some steps outside of our wheelhouse in music to try some new things in non-music focused motion gaming."
As Joystiq notes, the firm was responsible for EyeToy game EyeToy: Antigrav before it earned its stripes as the music game developer its known today. Maybe we could see a return to its former subject matter with the new motion tech now available.
Good news, or do you just want more Rock Band?
