iPhone 5 reveal rumoured for October 5

Device to go on sale a week later, according to reports

Apple will reportedly announce iPhone 5 at a press conference scheduled for October 5.

That's according to Pocket Gamer, which was informed by an unnamed source that the product will go on sale "a week later".

Multiple reports have now pointed to an October launch for the Apple device. Last month, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal claimed the new iPhone is likely to be similar to the current model, but thinner and lighter with an improved digital camera and possibly a bigger touchscreen.

Steve Jobs resigned as Apple CEO in late August due to health concerns, although he was immediately elected chairman of the board.

    It should be announced at the same time as the new iPhone, so I would imagine on sale not long after mate. So it could be 3 to 4 weeks say and it's on sale?
