Battlefield 3 - 1st official, full-length Xbox 360 gameplay movie

Operation Guillotine trailer shows off night-time mission on Microsoft's console

EA has launched an extended version of the recently teased Operation Guillotine gameplay trailer for Battlefield 3.

Showing off a night-time mission in which a US marine sergeant enters the city of Tehran to capture key members of the PLR leadership, it's the first official full-length Xbox 360 gameplay trailer.

Last week EA released eight new Battlefield 3 screens showing off Operation Guillotine, co-op level Exfiltration and multiplayer map Caspian Border.

 Brilliant. Having see so much of this game and finally having a hands on at Gamefest I am now comitted to a day one purchase. It looks, sounds and feels immense, however and this is a big however for all those who think this is like a new game altogether mechanically, it ain't, it feels and plays very similar to BF2 but just looks amazing. Not a problem for me, I liked BF2, but all those that didn't (for whatever reason) get on with BF2 will likely find the same issues here. In short EA's hype has done this title a massive diservice IMO, it should be sold on it's doubtless merits instead of some arse about face attempt at continually marginalising COD, because it ain't like it, won't beat it's sales and should be enjoyed on it's merits of being it's own game.

It's been on CVG since friday/saturday, if you read the general gaming forum.

    @KK:

Was there any need to mention the C word? You know what people are like on this site, even the slightest provocation can kick things off.

My bad, it just p**ses me that EA have used this one approach continually, DICE are there crafting a masterpiece and EA are then mis-selling it as some COD wannabe.

Just seems like the way COD plays. Enemies pop up, you shoot them, move forward, set piece/slow motion, enemies pop up, you shoot them...etc..etc..Its all style with great visuals, explosions and sound but there's no meat in the bones with regards to depth and strategy. I'm sure 99% of all the gunfights will have you and your enemy ducking for cover and firing pop shots at each until someone dies first. Even the original Doom had me fighting for my life, switching guns constantly, finding secrets, being ambushed. Now it's its just wooden target practice!

Ummm...Being serious and no fan-bait intended, I think the PS3 version did look better. Just an opinion, dont give me the fanboy crap - I have both and have been debating which system i will buy for...PC wont run it. Te framerate looked ROUGH in that video, seemed much smoother when i watched the PS3 video. Lighting looked better also.

    Dont read forums tbh

Anyway, that's posted by users not editors at cvg, so standing by my comment. Shoddy work by cvg lol

works for me tbh. Bc2 was my fave online game this gen.
So get a great looking version of bc2 mp ( more refined too) and an epic looking sp( honestly don't care if this sucks like Cod campaigns do, as mp is what I'm interested in anyway . )

I see, I'm just saying if you're one of those people that finds it strange that news, trailers etc aren't reported by CVG on saturdays then check the General Gaming forum as you'll likely find some there, for ex. Cliffy B calling out the reviewers that dared to give Gears 3 the unacceptably low scores of 8/10.

From what I have played, if you have enjoyed both series in the past you will need to be getting both again.... trust me  .

    Im only messing with youmate

Poor cliffy eh? Boo hoo, bad, nasty men didn't give his hugely unoriginal, but well made game a 9 or ten

unoriginal? When it came out it was a breath of fresh air and being a trilogy and all I doubt they are going to drastically change the third game just for fun. They wanted to please their fans, not attract new people with no interest in the series. Although he shouldn't be moaning about it getting 8/10. He should be moaning that it got rated worse than gears 2. Which further supports the fact that reviews mean nothing especially when it comes to multiplayer games. I remember a certain gametrailers review of halo reach calling out the plasma launcher for being overpowered. It just reinforced how oblivious these reviewers are.

dress it up how you like, its unoriginal, and really does nothing new at all, but neither did kz3, halo reach etc etc.

Gears of war was a game i enjoyed a lot, 2 not so much, as it just felt stale. im hoping 3 feels less stale, or it will get traded for Rage in a week or two.

It is a COD wannabe, just like MOH and BC1&2. 8)

Surprised they kept 360 footage hidden for so long, made you wonder whether they messed up that version somehow. I'll get the PC version at Xmas, the console ones will be massively cut down and will look crap in comparison. I'm just glad I've got a PC that can run it finally. 8)
