I don't understand why they do this. How hard can it be to release a few different colours of a console within 6 - 12 months of launch? I think it would definitely provide a small boost to sales.
I still remember that joyous day when I finally bought myself a PS2, in glorious Satin Silver, and was so glad I hadn't been an early adopter..
