OnLive's secret Triple-A games will 'blow your mind'

Top titles set to announce touch interfaces for cloud platform

Secret triple-A games are set to "blow your mind" with the announcement of touch interfaces designed specifically for OnLive.

That's according to OnLive CEO Steve Perlman, who told CVG ahead of tomorrow's UK OnLive launch that several unnamed big hitters will be playable via the cloud platform on iPad and Android tablets sans-controller, just like already-confirmed From Dust from Ubisoft.

"[From Dust] is a great example where they've taken an extremely high performance game which you could never possibly run on a tablet, and they've made it available on tablets using cloud computing," he said.

"You're going to see more and more of this. In fact, some of the games that are coming out that are triple-A games and have been announced, they've not announced that they're going to have touch interfaces just for OnLive - and they are going to blow your mind."

Confirmed titles coming up for OnLive that could qualify for "triple-A" status include Batman: Arkham City and Saints Row: The Third. Would they be much fun with a touch screen, though?

Long live the "Ouh-shiny-new-thingymabob-must-milk-it-for-all-it-is-worth-in-trickle-down-"news"-stories" hype train, eh CVG?

P.S. Even better, at the time I posted this there was no actual article.

How much are Onlive paying you CVG?

Because I notice at the top of the site, you have tabs for Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, PC &... Onlive?! Really? Hahahahahahaha!

Seriously, no one gives a f**k about being ripped off by this s**t. Please die quickly Onlive.

Oh wow, I only just noticed that. Meh, I guess they think it's important enough to warrant putting it up there. It sure does sound pretty interesting though, but until internet speeds get faster I think this kind of thing will only be intended for the so called "elite" group of ever so "hardcore" PC gamers who have internet capable of running such a service. Until then, I'll just sit here on my Xbox 360 with my sorry ass internet speeds of 2mb/s.

The irony with such a scenario being that those same "hardcore PC gamers" have the hardware to render OnLive meaningless to them.

I'm in the States, and confirm that it now runs on 2mb/s, and soon 1mb/s. The always adjusting it. Of course, for your tv, the bigger the tv, the faster you'll need the internet for the best quality.

I tried it last night and even over wireless it worked pretty well. If they have prices that can compete witht the Steam sales, I'll buy a few games.

I have a more than capable PC. I enjoy building and upgrading my rigs. I can easily get my machine plugged into my big TV downstairs. Therefore, Online is redundant and I believe, a scam. Besides, playing Onlive is quite novel, but It felt like I was playing an interactive YouTube video at a picture quality inferior to my normal PC setup.

Question: it says about being able to use it on a HDTV. But what about a SDTV? (I know, my TV is out of date, but it still works.)

This is, essentially, a new console launch. Much like a huge game release, there's bound to be loads of articles.

I've yet to find streams that don't look a bit SD on my TV compared to HD content.
