DICE has revealed that PS3 owners will get "all full-blown expansion packs" for Battlefield 3 a week early.
DICE junior product manager Tommy Rydling said on the PlayStation Blog: "You'll be happy to know that, starting with our first expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand, all full-blown upcoming expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PlayStation 3!"
EA announced earlier this week that a Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will be open to all PS3, Xbox 360 and PC players from September 29, and Rydling added that it will run until October 10.
Gamers who pre-order the digital PC version of DICE's shooter from Origin and all customers that pre-ordered the limited edition of Medal of Honor will be granted early access from September 27.

A week?, Really Sony?? Thats not much damage.. but atleast they try doing this type of stuff for once. You can clearly tell that Sony are more reluctant in this type of thing then Microsoft for example. Anyhow, theres enough modes, weapons, levelling and fun to be had without the expansion pack, and well.. Expansion Packs on Battlefield don't go too well for consoles anyhow, Vietnam should of told you guys that!
We'll see, we'll see. PC and 360 versions of Battlefield 3 reserved at HQ for me, don't really need the ps3.
PC - Large scale combat.
360 - Big destruction, smaller map. More atmospheric with the social group.
PS3 - Same as 360 but without the social group for me. Ah well!

Think in this case, it's unlikely Sony parted with lots of money tbh
Sony have close relationship with Dice after their work on Bc2 which Sony helped them with their work on engine, and getting to grips with ps3 hardware, and probably got some assistance on bf3 too , as it's ps3 led on consoles, plus Dice are probably keen to just give ps3 owners a reason to be excited and get one over 360 owners , instead of getting screwed by activision buying cod. More of a nice gesture on Dices behalf , rather than a business move.

bc2 is best bet by all accounts, with bc2 being very similar in nature to bf3 by all accounts, but the game's easy to get used to(well, I found bc2 easy to get into, with a relatively easy learning curve in terms of getting used to controls), so i would maybe hold off if u can resist. only thing that you will need to get used to, is the gameplay modes, which are team based, rather than lone wolf esque, and that cant be learnt just by playing a game, ur either a douche who wants to play lone wolf, or u are a team player

They must have meant 'almost' exclusive.
MOH owners do get early access to the beta, but so do PC gamers who have pre-ordered from origin.

I'd happily give 360 owners the game a week earlier tbh. It's not often the PS3 is the lead platform and that a multiplatform game looks better on the PS3 - due to the deferred SPU rendering or whatever fancy trickery they're using for the lighting.
