PES 2012 review scores emerge

Early verdicts dish out pleasing scores

Our PES 2012 review won't be going live until the official UK embargo lifts on Wednesday, but some verdicts have already appeared early online.

Game Informer has put a quick PES 2012 review out with a 9/10 rating, stating: "This year's PES title won't change anyone's mind about the series. It hasn't gotten any less complex, but it also hasn't lost any of its brilliance. In that sense, its success is all its own."

It's a slow decline from there for the Konami kick-about, but that's not to say that scores are anything but solid.

Vandal Online gives PES 2012 86 percent while 3D Juegos goes with 81 percent.

Elsewhere, Gaming XP, MeriStation and Gameblog.fr all went with a nice round 80 percent.

GamePro thought that PES 2012 was worthy of three and a half stars out of five saying that "responsive dribbling controls with myriad options are endlessly fun to tinker with; great, organic feel to the game and A.I. makes every match feel unique."

GameKult thought significantly less of PES 2012 though, only awarding it 60 percent.

Yes. I've not known a friend to have the default names, kits, etc for many generations now. Amazingly patches are out immediately after the game goes on sale. There are several versions by a handful of dedicated fans. You don't need to suffer the lack of kits, names, etc.

After two years of playing FIFA, that ^ comment is by far the most important to me.

I don't suppose the option files you can download put the names into Proper Case do they?

'Daymos' makes some of the best option files for PES on 360, check out what he has achieved so far for PES 2012 using his early PES 2012 disc.

I used the daymos option file for Xbox 360 pes 2011, fantastic work, makes the game a lot better. If you can, get a hold of his chant pack also, really improves the game when all the teams look authentic and you have all the team specific chants playing.

Looking good on the reviews, not that it would stop me getting it day one if it was 20%.

Having played about 500 hrs of pes 2011, i played fifa 11 not so long ago, and was shocked. Everyone says it can compete on the field with pes now, and simply put, it cant. Sure off the field, fifa ahs mostly everything else spot on. But if you want a game of football, with all the highs and lows as the real game - deep tactics, then PES is king
