Virgin Gaming and EA have announced the Battlefield 3 Worldwide Conquest Tournament.
The online tournament will culminate with a live grand finale "where the players with the best Battlefield skills" will walk away with a share of the cash.
"We're always looking to raise the bar for our members, to give them truly epic gaming experiences they won't find anywhere else and Battlefield 3 hits the mark," said Virgin Gaming co-founder Zachary Zeldin.
"This partnership with EA and DICE is exactly the kind of relationship it takes to deliver on that goal, and we can't be more excited to be working with them to host the greatest competitive gaming event I've ever seen."
Battlefield 3 hits UK stores on October 28, but a beta went live yesterday for those with early access, and opens up to all tomorrow.

No I jest, it does sound pretty cool though however it always amazes me in the tournos just how good some people are, I mean I am clearly good at some games but when me a few mates joined Gamebattles last year we got some serious ass handing happening, Streefighter 4 was just incredible!!

Some people are just amazingly talented at these games. Looking at some of the 100% Expert videos on the Guitar Hero games, makes you wonder what they'd be like with a real guitar. Yes they're different things, but apply some of that time investment in a real guitar and they might be half decent.
