ITV apologises for Arma 2 IRA blunder

Broadcaster blames "unfortunate case of human error" for mistakenly included footage

ITV has apologised after a documentary screened on Monday night presented footage from Arma 2 as a secret IRA propaganda film from 1988.

The broadcaster said the clip in question (below) showed a helicopter being shot down by the IRA using weapons supplied by Colonel Gaddafi. It was in fact fan-made Arma 2 footage.

In a statement, ITV said: "The events featured in Exposure: Gaddafi and the IRA were genuine but it would appear that during the editing process the correct clip of the 1988 incident was not selected and other footage was mistakenly included in the film by producers.

"This was an unfortunate case of human error for which we apologise."

Now I have to trawl through hours of UK riot footage to see if the BBC "amusingly" inserted some GTA IV footage to back up the Evening Standard's claims... :?

I think they should apologise more for ITV2 and continually giving The Price creature and her mahoosive cock of an ex-husband their own programmes!

There was a posh kid at my school, well when I say posh I mean he pronounced his aitches and was as posh as you could get round our way, who once announced that his parents only watched BBC as ITV was 'far too downmarket!'
He regularly got beat up in the playground for this but on reflection, he, or his parents rather, were spot on.
Poor bastard's probably got a stutter for all the hidings now.
    Or some sorta facial tick.
